When you think of an art business, what comes to mind? Both, profit and fame! So, if you are thinking about starting an art business, you need a powerful, unique name for your business.
One of the biggest challenges you’ll face when creating an artwork business is coming up with a perfect business name. You want a name that’s easy to remember so your customers are able to find you online. To create a name that’s easily searchable online, you’ll want to use keywords that people typically search for when looking for art services.
While you should definitely give some thought to how your business name sounds, you’ll also want to make sure the name can be protected as intellectual property and does not infringe on someone else’s trademark.
Let’s give you awesome art names that can help you become the best-selling brand in the city. All these art name ideas are geared toward artists, but some of these could also work well for galleries, art schools, or art supply stores. How to Come up With Art Name Ideas?
The art name ideas are the most important part of any artwork, and it is very difficult for a person who has no idea about this topic. In order to come up with effective art name ideas, you need to have some knowledge about the subject.
The best way to get such information is by reading books or articles on the internet. You can also ask your friends if they know anything about the subject. If you do not find any useful information in these ways, then you should start searching for more information online. There are many websites that provide free information about art names ideas. You just need to search them carefully.
The name of your art business is one of the most important things you can have. It will be a reflection on how well you do in this industry and it’s something that people are going to remember for years after they first meet you or hear about you.
Consider the following points while naming your next big art brand:
Know what makes a good art name
There are certain rules that apply when choosing a name for your art business. The main rule is that the name must be unique and memorable. Your art name should be short and easy to pronounce. It should also be catchy and interesting. It should also include all the necessary details like the type of work you offer, the location where you operate, etc.
Make sure that your art name includes all the necessary information
You should make sure that your art name contains all the necessary information. This means that it should contain all the necessary details regarding your art business. For example, if you sell paintings, then your art name should include the word “paintings” somewhere in its text.
Make sure that your art name does not sound too similar to other brands
Your art name should not sound too similar to another brand. This could lead to confusion among customers. So, try to avoid using words that might confuse your potential clients.
Choose a name that reflects your personality
Your art name should reflect your personality as much as possible. Choose a name that sounds natural and fits your personality.
Avoid using numbers in your art name
Numbers are usually associated with businesses that sell products. So, you should avoid using numbers in your art names.
It is always better to think about the above-mentioned points before starting to create your own art name. Once you have decided on a name, you should use it consistently throughout your entire career.
Brainstorm and make a list of art company names
Once you have chosen a name for your art company, you should brainstorm and make a list of different names that you can choose from. Make sure that each name represents your art business in a positive manner.
It is always better to go through the process of creating a new art name rather than trying to change an existing one. This will help you save time and money.
You may want to brainstorm with friends and family members. Or you could use online tools such as Google search engine. There are many websites where you can find thousands of ideas. Just type in keywords related to your business and see which ones come up.
Once you get some idea, choose the best option among all of them. If you don’t feel confident enough then ask someone else to help you out. They might give you some great advice.
Play with words to get the best art names
If you are having trouble coming up with a good art name, then you should play around with words. You can start by playing with the letters of your name. Then, you can add more letters to form new words.
For example, if your name is John Smith, then you can create a new word by adding ‘o’ at the end of the word ‘Johno’
There are different ways to play around with words to create catchy names. For instance, you can combine two words together to form a new word. This way, you can add meaning to the combination.
Keep on narrowing the list of names down
After you have created a long list of names, you need to narrow down the list. It is important to keep only those names that you like the most.
You should also consider the following factors when choosing the best options:
- Does the name fit your personality?
- Is it easy to remember?
- Will it be easily recognizable?
- Are there any spelling mistakes?
After coming up with several options, narrow down the choices based on the criteria mentioned above. Choose only those names that fit into your niche market. Also, keep in mind whether any of the names sound too similar to each other.
If you still cannot decide between two names, go ahead and pick both of them. Then later, you can change the name once you start getting customers.
Think about the emotion you want to evoke
When naming your art company, you must pay attention to the emotions that you want to invoke. For example, if you want to convey excitement or passion, then you should use words that represent these emotions.
Also, you should try to avoid using negative terms. Instead, you should focus on using positive words. This will help you build trust and credibility with your audience.
When thinking about the name of your company, you must take care of the emotions involved. A name that evokes positive feelings in the minds of potential clients is always preferable to negative ones.
So, what kind of feeling do you want to invoke in your prospective clients? Do you want to convey professionalism? Ease of doing business? Trustworthiness? These are questions you must ask yourself.
In case you are looking for inspiration, above are some examples of successful companies’ name ideas.
Avoid hard-to-spell and hard-to-remember names
It is very common for people to make spelling errors while creating their own names. So, before finalizing the name, you should check for spelling mistakes.
The same goes for names that are difficult to pronounce. Your customers will not be able to understand your brand unless they know how to pronounce it correctly.
It is important to avoid naming your company after something difficult to spell or pronounce. It will be very frustrating when people have trouble pronouncing it. So, stick to easy-to-say and spellable names.
Also, avoid making your company name so unique that no one has ever heard of it. People should easily recognize your brand.
Use a name that conveys some meaning
A good name should be memorable and meaningful. You should choose a name that represents your brand’s purpose.
For example, if you are selling custom-made products, then you should use a name that reflects this fact. If you sell high-quality services, then you should use an appropriate name.
A good name should not only tell people how they can contact you but also provide insight into your services. You need to communicate clearly through your name.
Make sure your company name stands out. The first impression matters most.
Consider an art name that tells a story
You may think that choosing a name for your company is already complicated enough. But, there is more! You must also consider the story behind your name.
Your name should reflect the history of your company. In addition, it should tell a story about who you are as a person.
The name of your company should reflect its history as well as future plans. Your company name should be able to describe who you are and what you offer.
People often forget the names of things they own. But, they never forget the names of brands they love.
Make it catchy and memorable.
If you want to create a memorable name for your company, you should keep these tips in mind:
Choose a short name. Longer names tend to get lost in the crowd.
To make your company name catchy, think about using words that represent your core values. This way, even though your company changes directions, your name remains relevant.
You don’t necessarily need to come up with a new name every time you launch a product or service. However, you should consider changing your company’s name whenever there is a significant shift in direction or strategy.
Don’t pick a name that limits your business growth
When you start a business, you usually do not have any idea about where your business will go. As such, you should not limit yourself by picking a name that does not allow you to grow.
There are many ways to expand your business. For instance, you could add another location, hire additional employees, increase your marketing budget, etc.
So, instead of limiting yourself by choosing a name that cannot accommodate further expansion, try to find a name that allows you to grow.
Avoid using a name that sounds like a trademarked term
Trademarks are protected intellectual property rights. They protect companies from being confused with other businesses.
As such, when you are considering a name for your company, make sure that it doesn’t sound too much like a trademark.
So, before choosing a name for your business, check whether it contains trademarks. If it does, you might run into legal problems.
Consider referencing a book or movie
Another great way to choose a name for your company involves referencing to a book or a movie.
For example, you could refer to the Harry Potter series. Or, you could refer to “Star Wars”. These movies are famous worldwide. So, you can easily attract attention by reference to them.
Many entrepreneurs find themselves inspired by famous books or movies. In fact, these references can inspire you to create a better company name.
When brainstorming for a name, try thinking outside the box. Instead of coming up with a creative idea on your own, ask others for suggestions.
Many small businesses took advantage of popular characters from stories and movies. It helped their businesses and they needed relatively fewer marketing tactics.
Conduct a thorough internet search.
Before you decide on a name for your company and brand, conduct a thorough internet search. You should look for similar names.
This helps you avoid having a duplicate name. Also, this ensures that no one else has already registered the same name.
In addition, you should also look for domain names that are available. When you register a domain name, you automatically become the owner of that domain.
However, if someone else registers the same domain name, then you lose ownership of that domain.
Before naming your company, conduct comprehensive online research. Look for similar companies and see which ones have been successful.
Also, check whether your proposed name has already been registered. There are several free tools available online that will allow you to do so.
Once you’ve found a suitable name, register it immediately. Don’t wait until after launching your website because doing so will cost you money.
Consider the portability of your company’s name
If you want your company’s name to be portable, consider registering it as a generic top-level domain (gTLD).
A gTLD is a domain extension that is used to identify websites. The most common gTLDs include .com,.net,.org,.biz,.info,.me, etc.
It’s important to note that some countries require additional registration fees if you wish to protect your intellectual property rights. So, before starting an e-commerce store, consult local laws regarding trademarks and copyrights.
The same goes for foreign investors. If you plan to raise capital abroad, then you’ll need to get permission first.
The best thing to do is to hire a lawyer specializing in IP law. He/she will guide you through all legal procedures required to secure your right to use your chosen name.
Get the .com domain name
A .com domain name is considered the most valuable domain name. This is due to its popularity among consumers.
You can purchase a .com domain name for $15 per year. However, there are other options available such as.co.uk,.in,.tv, etc.
There are many reasons why getting a .com domain name is essential. First, this type of domain extension is considered one of the most valuable domains out there. Second, it helps build trust among customers since people associate a .com extension with quality brands. Third, it gives you more opportunities to earn revenue via advertising. Fourth, it increases traffic flow to your site. And finally, it boosts SEO rankings.
However, not everyone gets a .com domain name. You can go for other famous TLDs, in case .com is already taken i.e. .net, .org and .biz.
Conduct a trademark search
Trademarks are essentially logos or symbols that help distinguish products from others. They are usually protected by copyright laws.
When you start an e-commerce business, you must ensure that you don’t infringe upon any existing trademarks.
To find out whether your proposed name is infringing on another company’s trademark, conduct a trademark search. Most popular search engines like Google, Yahoo!, Bing, etc., offer free services that allow you to perform these searches.
Most importantly, make sure that your brand doesn’t contain any words that could be confused with those of another company. For example, if you’re planning to sell shoes, then avoid using the word “shoe” in your brand name.
Get feedback on the name
Once you have finalized your brand name, ask friends and family members for their opinion. Ask them what they think about your new name. Also, check online forums and social media sites to see how well your brand name is received.
In addition to asking for feedback, you should also conduct market research. Find out which names are being used by similar companies.
You might think that choosing a good name would be easy but it takes time and effort. Therefore, don’t rush into making decisions. Instead, ask others about what they like or dislike about your potential new name.
Ask them how they’d feel if someone used their favorite phrase or character in his/her own business. They might even suggest alternative options.
Make sure the name sounds good when said aloud
When selecting a name for your e-store, keep in mind that its pronunciation shouldn’t sound awkward. Also, avoid names that contain numbers or special characters. These could cause problems during checkout.
Some names seem good on just paper and they sound awful. For example, “Bargain” has negative connotations. Avoid such things at the earliest.
Use free resources for brainstorming art name ideas
If you want to come up with unique and creative names, then use free tools. There are several websites that provide great suggestions. Some of them include:
- Nameberry – This website provides thousands of suggested names. It allows users to filter results based on keywords.
- Wordoid – This tool lets you enter a keyword and get back a list of related terms.
- Name Generator – This website offers a huge database of over 1 million possible names. You can choose from different categories including animals, colors, countries, foods, inventions, professions, sports teams, etc.
To help come up with great names, try browsing online forums dedicated to naming conventions. There, you can find lists of popular words and expressions which have been associated with certain industries over the years.
There are hundreds of resources out there that could give you suggestions on what kind of name you should choose. However, these sites usually focus only on English language users. That means you won’t see much information related to non-English speaking markets.
So, use these free resources before jumping into buying premium services.
Make sure you are personally happy with the business name
It’s important to remember that not all businesses will succeed. If you end up regretting your decision, then you’ll need to change it. So, make sure you’re comfortable with your choice.
Also, consider whether the name fits your business goals. If you plan to expand your business, then your brand needs to reflect this. Otherwise, it may limit your growth.
Once you’ve settled on a name, check whether you still want it after some time passes. If yes, then proceed further. Otherwise, change it back to something else.
Choosing a suitable name isn’t easy. But once you get it right, you’ll reap benefits from it forever. So, take your time and follow our tips above carefully.

Art title generator: how to inspire great names for your artwork.
Naming your artwork can be harder than creating it. Here’s how an art title generator like Jasper AI can help, plus tips for creating the perfect art title.

You’ve got a brilliant idea for your next creation, but you’re stuck coming up with a name for your artwork. In fact, you’ve got a batch of artwork with no names and a serious case of writer’s block to boot.
An artwork name generator might be the answer to all your problems.
Jasper’s art title generator uses AI to help you come up with handfuls of random artwork names at the click of a button. Keep reading to learn more about creating unique names for your artistic creations and how to use Jasper to save you time (and headaches).
What makes a good artwork title
Just like book titles hint at the theme of the story inside, a good art title hints at the theme of its art. Other features of a compelling artwork title include:
- It hints at your inspiration.
- It’s memorable.
- It’s original.
- It tells a story.
- It’s not cheesy.
- It lets the viewer add their own interpretation.
You can do this in several ways, such as drawing on emotion, color, or the subject your painting refers to.
To start, try identifying the emotion or feeling you want to convey with your art and its title, then come up with a list of words or phrases that evoke that feeling for you.
Don’t be afraid to use a name that leaves room for interpretation—that can add to the emotions you want the viewer to feel when they see your art.
Some examples of famous artworks with titles that evoke emotion include:
- “Inconsolable Grief” by Ivan Kramskoi
- “ The Scream ” by Edvard Munch
- “Emerge in Light” by Gerald Obregon
Does your artwork incorporate shades of a single color or focus on a specific palette? You could use those hues in your title.
Colors also help convey emotion , so don’t be afraid to mention one in your title even if it’s not part of your main color scheme. Another creative angle you can take while using color in your title is to search for a specific shade of a common color. For example:
- Blue → cerulean
- Green → sage
- Pink → rose
Some famous artworks that draw color into the title include:
- “The Golden Wall” by Hans Hofmann
- “ Black Iris ” by Georgia O’Keeffe
- “Nocturne: Blue and Silver - Chelsea” by James Abbott McNeill Whistler
Referring to a subject in your artwork can add to the story the piece conveys. It can give the subject of your piece a name to clarify the meaning behind your art—or the name may add to the mystery.
For example, “ Christina’s World ” gives the girl in Andrew Wyeth’s painting a name, but the mystery remains. Who is Christina, and why is this field and the house on the hill considered her world?
- “ The Weeping Woman ” by Pablo Picasso
- “Revenge of the Goldfish” by Sandy Skoglund
- “The Incredulity of Saint Thomas” by Caravaggio
Inspiration
Sometimes your artwork’s title is the perfect place to give a nod to the inspiration behind your piece. Perhaps you’ve been inspired by an event, or maybe another artist’s work got your creative gears going. Whatever the case, you can add homage to this source in your title.
Some examples of art titles that include inspiration include:
- “ The Domain of Arnheim ” by Rene Magritte (inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Domain of Arnheim”)
- “Listening to Music by Schumann” by Fernand Khnopff
- “Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee Around a Pomegranate a Second Before Awakening” by Salvador DalÍ
Reasons to not name your artwork “Untitled”
But what if you’re still stuck trying to come up with an artwork name? Should you stick with “Untitled” and let the viewers decide what they want to call your piece?
Probably not. It’s better to give your art a name other than “Untitled” to convey the value of the piece and help it become memorable. Especially if you’re running an art business and hope to sell your artwork.
Another point against using “Untitled” as an art title is the fact that viewers will have a harder time finding your work through search. A unique name for your artwork gives it a much better chance of appearing as a top result on page one.
At the end of the day, just remember there is no right name for your artwork. What you name your piece of art is up to you and only you. After all, you’re the artist.
How to create great names for your artwork with Jasper
Sometimes you need a jumping off point to come up with the perfect name for your art. Especially if you’re posting dozens of paintings and sketches on your art blog, brainstorming names can quickly become a chore.
Thankfully, AI can help . Jasper uses algorithms to help you brainstorm names for your artwork. Using its Business or Product Name template as an art title generator, you can quickly and easily come up with dozens of name ideas.

We used Jasper to brainstorm title ideas for a fictitious painting depicting a Milky Way bar on a field of stars with several hands reaching toward it. It was as simple as giving Jasper this description plus the keywords we wanted it to include in the title (“Milky Way”). We pressed Generate and got several art title ideas with potential:
- “Milky Way’s Grasp”
- “Milky Way Horizons”
- “Milky Way Dreamscape”
P.S. Use Jasper’s “A Thousand Words is Worth a Picture” template to come up with art prompts when you have no idea what to paint next. It even adds artistic style notes to give you direction for color and emotion.

7 Tips for creating unique artwork names
If you run an art business or blog, chances are you already have plenty of practice brainstorming unique names. But if you feel like your art titles are missing a little something, here are some tips to get you started:
- Start thinking about your artwork’s title while you’re creating it.
- Tell a story of how your art came to be.
- Ask friends and family for suggestions.
- Using simple and descriptive words is best.
- Don’t state the obvious if you can, but sometimes it’s necessary.
- Avoid clichés.
- Keep things short and sweet if possible.
While you're at it, try out Jasper's AI art generator , Jasper Art. Jasper Art allows you generate completely unique AI-generated images . All you need to do is give Jasper a little creative direction and watch him go.
Jasper Art and other tools are powerful teammates when it comes to running your art blog or business. While AI may seem like a threat to human-created artwork, it can also be a helpful companion when it comes to getting your creativity riled up and ready to compose your next piece.

Why Is Your Business Name Important?
Your business name is one of the single most important pieces to starting a business.
Because your business name has power.
It reflects your reputation, your mission, values, and represents what people (and customers) are searching for.
It impacts the way in which people remember, refer you, and perceive your business
When choosing your business name, there's a lot to think about in order to get it right - so it's important not to rush this process.
Let's take a look at everything you need to consider before deciding on a business name:
Tips To Consider When Naming Your Art Gallery:
Simple is always better
This means a few different things. Your art gallery name should always be:
- Easy to spell
- Easy to pronounce
- Easy to remember
Consider avoiding long names as much as possible, as this will only lead your customers forgetting your name and feeling frustrated.
To test this point, try to think of any well-known reputable brand off the top of your head.
The first that come to mind for me are Alexa, Google, Nike, Apple - each unique in their own way (hence, easy to remember) , less than six characters and easy to spell.
Your Business Name Should Define What You Do
The name of your business should reflect a defining characteristic of what you do.
Before your customer goes to your website or speaks to you, the name of your business should spark some initial thoughts in their brain as to what you're all about.
For example, marketingexamples.com describes exactly what their company is about: providing great examples of marketing tactics.
Consider SEO When Naming Your Business
Bottom line: If you don't show up in google, you're going to make it that much more challenging for customers to find you.
There are several different aspects to think about when it comes to SEO & naming your art gallery:
- Try not to pick a business name that's crowded with other businesses
- Consider naming your business based on highly searched keywords
- Make sure the name of your business matches search intent and what people are looking for
Think about the emotions you want to evoke
Your business name has the power to evoke certain emotions and thoughts from your customer.
It has the ability to evoke a positive or a negative feeling. An inclusive or an exclusive feeling. A fearful or a loving feeling.
It's not to say that any of these feelings are wrong, but it's important to ensure that they are in line with your values and mission.
For example, the brand Death's Door makes me feel a bit risky and uncertain - but that's the point. They're selling Gin.
Try Not To Pick Something Too Limiting
Your business name should be fitting for the future and growth of your business , that way you don't have to confront a re-brand down the road.
If you choose something too narrow, it may be challenging to diversify your product and revenue streams down the road.
Here are some tips to avoid making this mistake:
- Try not to name the business after a particular geographical area (this makes it hard to grow in other areas)
- Try not to name the business after only one product you sell
- Try not to name something based on a current trend
Brainstorming Names For Your Business
If you're in the brainstorming phase and trying to come up with a business name, there are a few key things to think about in order to get the juices flowing:
- Write out a list of words that reflect your brand, personality, team etc. These should be the first things that come to your mind and you shouldn't have to think too hard about it.
- Look at competition in the space and see if there's a common theme. Write down some key words or phrases that resonate with you and add them to the list.
- Think about the emotion you want to evoke with your business name
- Ask yourself: If I had to describe my business in one word, what would it be?
From there, you can create a shortlist based on the words that resonate best with you and follow the naming guidelines above.
Tips on naming your business
In addition to the requirements from the State, there are some general naming guidelines that may help you down the road as well.
We've put together a full guide here for naming your business here but will also cover the most critical pieces below:
Is your URL available? Social media handles?
You can check for domain availability here:
Find a domain starting at $0.88
powered by Namecheap
As soon as you resonate with a name (or names), secure the domain and social media handles as soon as possible to ensure they don't get taken.
Other general naming tips
- Consider SEO when naming your business
- Consider naming your business something that reflects what you do and/or who you are
- Keep it simple! Easy to spell, easy to pronounce and easy to remember
- Try not to pick something too limiting that could impact your businesses growth in the future!
Check out our full naming guide here .

Examples of Great Business Names
When choosing a business name, it's critical that you look at other examples of businesses not only in your space, but business names in other industries that have done particularly well.
Here are a few examples of great business names (+ how some of these businesses came up with their name):
Competitor Analysis Example
One great way to name your business is by looking at the competition and getting inspiration.
Gia Paddock, founder of Boutique Rye analyzed other businesses in the space and added her own personal spin to her business name:
A popular national brick & mortar women’s boutique that many may have heard of is called Francesca’s… How original, right? So we came up with Boutique Rye named after our son, Riley. We put "boutique" in front to be a little different.
The name "Boutique Rye" checks the boxes for naming a business:
- Short and simple
- Easy to spell and easy to remember
- Clearly defines what the company does
- Optimized for SEO (people searching for boutiques)
- Unique and personal touch - tells a story.
Ask Other People
Sometimes, coming up with a name is as easy as asking other people, whether that be friends, family, people at a coffee shop, or in Spyq Sklar case, his own customer!
How we came up with the name Cat Sushi :
So, we put together a quick business plan and set aside some money that we were willing to risk. One of our loyal customers actually came up with the name. We still give them free cat food.
Read the full story ➡️ here
The name "Cat Sushi" checks all the boxes for naming a business:
- Memorable and funny
- Obvious that they sell treats for cats
- Fun & unique story - their customer literally came up with the name of their business!
The Amazon Example
Formerly called "Cadabra", Jeff Bezos decided that the name was too obscure, hard to spell, and easy to misinterpret.
The name Amazon came from a simple dictionary search .
Jeff Bezos wanted something that started with an A, looked through a dictionary and came up with the word Amazon.
When he told his team, he didn't care for anyone else's input. He was set on it.
Here's how the word "Amazon" checks all the boxes (aside from being worth a trillion dollars):
- Represents the largest river in the world, making it very memorable
- The story and meaning of the word matches the vision of the company: To be the larger and better than any other business!
- The name allows for future growth opportunity - they didn't name something specific to just "books," even though at the time, that's what it was.
- Easy to spell, pronounce and recommend!

I'm Pat Walls and I created Starter Story - a website dedicated to helping people start businesses. We interview entrepreneurs from around the world about how they started and grew their businesses.
Our 4,418 case studies show you how ordinary people built businesses to millions in revenue - all starting from a simple idea or side project.
These aren’t just case studies - they are real stories, from real founders who share their most intimate details with you - down to the exact amount of money they are making.
How did you come up with the idea? How did you find your first 10 customers? How much money are you making?
Our 4,418 case studies break down these exact questions. Every industry, trend, and how much money you can make.
You’ll realize these people are just like you - and that, deep down, you can do it too.

Building a business is lonely. And it’s easy to feel stuck.
"How do you take the first step? How do you know you’re making the ‘right’ progress every day?
You finally have a place where you can ask these questions, get advice, and see exactly how successful founders did it before you.
You’re no longer building alone, because you have thousands of founders who are telling you to keep going.

I love this website.
Love Starter Story's transparency.
You can't find this information anywhere else.

An incredible community - it's the only reason I have Slack on my phone.

Starter Story has been with me on my journey to over 28K YouTube subscribers. It’s an incredible place to learn how to build a successful business - fast.

I don't think I ever would have taken the first step without Starter Story.

Starter Story gave me permission to start a business. Was watching in the sidelines for years but seeing others do it helped me realize there’s nothing exclusive about it. Now I run my own!
I made over $5,000 from my Starter Story membership in a week!

It’s really magical to have an accountability group when you’re like me and have been working solo for a long time.

I feel like I'm shipping and getting things done like never before.

At first I was skeptical if this was worth the money. In hindsight, Starter Story has been one of the best investments I've made.

I've made amazing connections in a very short amount of time. The founders in this community are accomplished, smart, savvy, and business gritty people.

Immediately after joining the Starter Story community, a founder with 175K followers offered to help ME. Unbelievable.
What Pat Walls has built with Starter Story is awesome.
The most powerful platform if you want to start a business.

This community is full people who have actually started something. So the connections and learnings are based on a shared commitment to action. That shit is powerful.

Starter Story helps me learn about the (not so secret) formula for success.
Real people making real money. Inspires me every day.
You can see what's worked and what hasn't for thousands of businesses. No brainer!
Building a business is not a game of luck.
It’s about taking action every day.
You’ll get access to thousands of case studies, courses, frameworks, alongside a group of people that genuinely want you to succeed.
You’ll start making real progress, and experience first-hand what it’s like to put your ideas into the world.

Tips for Naming Your Artwork
- Focus on the theme and meaning of your artwork: Consider the emotions, concepts, and messages you’re trying to convey through your art and try to reflect them in your title.
- Keep it simple and memorable: Avoid lengthy, complicated names that are hard to remember or reveal too much. Instead, aim for short and catchy titles that are easy to remember.
- Experiment with wordplay: Play with different words, phrases, and puns related to your artwork or its subject matter. This can create a unique and memorable title that’s fun and meaningful.
- Consider your audience: Consider the context in which your artwork will be presented, and adapt the title accordingly. For example, if it’s for a gallery show, you may want to choose a more formal or sophisticated title than if it’s for an online platform.
- Don’t be afraid to ask for feedback: Share your potential title options with friends, family, or other artists and get their opinion. Fresh perspectives can inspire new ideas and help you choose the most effective title for your artwork.

How to Come Up with a Catchy and Unique Art Craft Business Name?
Naming your art craft business is an important decision that can significantly impact your brand’s success. A catchy and unique name will help you attract attention, stand out from competitors, and create a memorable impression. Here are some tips to help you come up with the perfect name:
Understand Your Brand
Before you start brainstorming names, it’s crucial to have a clear understanding of your brand. Think about the type of art and craft you specialize in, your target audience, and the unique selling points of your business. Consider whether your brand is traditional, modern, whimsical, or sophisticated, and let these qualities guide your naming process.
Brainstorm Keywords
Start by brainstorming a list of keywords related to art and craft. Think about the materials you use, the techniques you employ, and the emotions you want to evoke with your creations. Write down words and phrases that resonate with your brand identity and can be incorporated into your business name.
Be Creative
Experiment with different combinations and variations of the keywords you’ve brainstormed. Play with rhymes, alliterations, and puns to create unique and memorable names. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box and consider unconventional or unexpected word choices.
Consider Your Target Audience
Your target audience plays a significant role in shaping your business name. If you cater to a specific niche, such as children’s crafts or high-end art, make sure your name reflects that. Consider the language, tone, and style that will resonate most with your target customers.
Check Availability
Once you have a list of potential names, check their availability. Conduct a thorough search to ensure that the name you choose is not already in use by another art craft business. You should also check if the domain name and social media handles associated with your chosen name are available.
Test and Gather Feedback:
Before finalizing your business name, test it out on friends, family, and potential customers. Get their feedback and see how they react to the name. Is it memorable? Does it accurately convey the essence of your brand? Consider their input and make adjustments if necessary.
Seek Professional Help
If you’re struggling to come up with a name or need assistance with the creative process, consider consulting with a professional branding expert or marketing agency. They can provide valuable insights and guide you towards a name that aligns with your brand vision.
Remember, your art craft business name should be a reflection of your creativity, passion, and uniqueness. Take your time, explore different options, and choose a name that truly represents your brand. With a catchy and unique name, you’ll be well on your way to establishing a strong presence in the art and craft industry.

Choosing a good title for your piece of art says something about what the drawing or painting means to you and gives the viewer clues about approaching the piece.
Because you take your art seriously, it's easy to go a little over the top. Everyone has seen it: the bored nude sitting in a cold, poorly lit studio, titled "Summer Reverie," or an artificial arrangement of crockery titled "Afternoon Tea." Possibly worse is the complex, mysterious abstract piece with the unhelpful name of "Untitled."
With a little thought, you can avoid a confusing or off-putting title and find a good fit for your art and your audience.
First, an Argument for 'Untitled'
There are good reasons to have reservations about major pieces going untitled, yet there can be justification for taking that route. Artists might wish to let a work speak for itself and not impose a text upon the image and viewer. Also, the very "untitled-ness" of it—the absence of a label—might be in itself important.
Quite often, artwork really doesn't need a title. This is particularly true of smaller sketches, studies, and preparatory works, many of which are simply that: working sketches that weren't intended to stand on their own as works of art.
If you find yourself putting such a drawing on show, don't be pressured to give it a fancy title that might be incongruous with the nature of the piece. Instead, identify the drawing with a name that includes theme or subject, medium, and date:
- "Landscape Sketch, December 2001"
- "Untitled Figure Study"
- "Domestic Scene"
- "Sketchbook Page: Hands"
- "Study from Rembrandt : Two Philosophers, National Gallery"
Figure Drawings
Studio nudes given a melodramatic title can seem pretentious, so be careful. Your best strategy is to take a leaf from Francis Bacon's book and give a descriptive title.
Admittedly, there are only so many "Standing Nudes" that you can do before your catalog becomes confusing. You can combat this by using unique features in the title or subtitle: details such as the model's name, date/time, medium, pose, or location:
- "Figure Drawing 23" for the basic naked model
- "Torso: Graphite Pencil" or "Seated Figure in Charcoal"
- "Red-Haired Model with Pomegranate" or something similarly descriptive
- "2-hour Pose Number 1"
- "Sarah Jane with Drapery"
- "David in the Conservatory"
- In a pinch, a little humor: "Boredom Sets In"
Still life drawings can be rather tricky to title. Keep it simple.
Creative still life setups will give you more opportunity for interesting titles, with natural slice of life arrangements offering a story more than something artificial. Applying some thought to your still life arrangement, creating a deliberate mood or theme, will be helpful when it comes to choosing a title integrated with the work.
For less developed still life works or studies, your title can be descriptive without stating the obvious. Consider using time, season, or mood as part of the title:
- "Still Life 1985" or "Still Life: Color Study"
- "Fruit Bowl," "Found Objects," "Spring Blooms," depending on the objects
- "Katie's Favorites" or "Autumn in the Kitchen"
- "Conversation," "After the Argument," or "Too Late," for metaphorical pieces.
Pets can evoke a lot of emotion for people, so artists too often give pet portraits overly emotional names that can come across as saccharine. Once again, simplicity is usually the best approach, unless you're working with an image that tells a very strong story:
- "Winston," simply the pet's name
- "Ch. Doogie Zanbern of Prague," the full pedigree name
- "Branford at Central Park"
If you've drawn a sad zoo lion, don't name the drawing "King of the Jungle" unless you are after irony. If you've drawn a magnificent wild lion, don't call him that either; the cliche is too painful. "London Zoo Lion" or "Lion, Kenya 2000" are simple but adequate titles.
By all means be more creative, but watch out for cliche and sentimentality.
Sometimes the location doesn't matter, but often people want to know if those familiar mountains are ones they know, so let the title tell the viewer where the landscape is.
Never assume that the viewer will be familiar with the scene. Even "famous" monuments might be unfamiliar to young people or people in other countries:
- Revealing personal knowledge or connection is interesting: "Oak Tree on Grandpa's Farm, Ontario" tells the viewer something about the artist. too.
- Often the title can pick up on irony, contrast, or drama in the scene: "Midsummer, Greenland" for a frosty northern landscape, or "Waiting for Rain, Mildura" for a parched Australian paddock.
Abstract Art
Unless you want to make your art obscure (and many artists do), the title of an abstract image is particularly important. Often the title is the only key to the art other than the piece itself:
- If you're interested in formal design, let the viewer know to stop at the surface: "Design in Blue and Green" or "Pattern No. 2: Squares" informs the viewer not to look for deeper meaning.
- If your work is communicating a concept, give the viewer a clue into your thinking. Titles such as "Reading Beckett—May Be" or "Quantum Mechanical Headache" are going to help your viewer understand and appreciate your work far more than "Untitled Number 1."
Final Tips on Naming Art
- Avoid cliche, unless used for irony.
- Be appropriate to the scale and spirit of the piece.
- Don't be pretentious.
- Give your viewer information without stating the obvious.
- State the obvious if you must, to identify the piece.
- Shorter is generally better. Let the art do the talking.

When can you call a creation a piece of art?
A work of art is generally speaking, a piece of art that has been created by an artist. There are many different types of art, from paintings and sculptures, to installations and performance art. But what makes something a work of art? Is it the skill of the artist, the intention behind the piece, or the reaction of the viewer? In short, when can you call a creation a piece of art? It's hard to say.
A history of artwork
Since prehistoric times, when the earliest examples of creative work were found in the form of prehistoric cave art, art has been an integral part of human expression. Art has evolved over time to take many different forms and served as a means of understanding the world around us. We gain a unique understanding of humanity's evolution and a deeper comprehension of our environment and ourselves by studying the history of art. The Paleolithic Era, which lasted from 30,000 to 10,000 BCE, is the time when the earliest examples of human art were found. These crude objects are said to have been made as part of a religious and cultural ceremony. Art was used to tell the stories of Egypt, Greece, and Rome's ancient civilizations thousands of years later. Stories were told through monumental sculptures and other forms of art like pottery and mosaics for both education and entertainment. Painting and other art forms underwent significant changes during the Medieval and Renaissance periods. Religious icons, royal portraits, and natural scenes were among the subjects. Humanist art also emerged as a result of the expansion of education and the availability of books. By focusing on the human experience and the world around us, this went beyond religious themes. New approaches to art were initiated during the 18th and 19th centuries by the Industrial Revolution. Film and photography began to challenge preexisting art standards, and Abstract Expressionism introduced a radical new idea. Traditional models were no longer the only medium for art; Instead, it could be seen as a way to think about oneself and express oneself. The way art is made and consumed has been further altered by technological advancements throughout the 20th century and beyond. In recent decades, art and popular culture have all been influenced by computer graphics, digital media, and virtual reality. Interactive, interdisciplinary approaches to art-making have also been adopted by artists, who have looked to computer technology for novel approaches. Human creativity has long been linked to the history of art. However, such radical shifts in the scope and nature of art have only occurred within the last hundred years or so. The history of art serves to remind us that it is still a dynamic and ever-evolving form of expression.

167+ BEST Project Names [Unique Project Name Ideas]

Project names serve the purpose of describing the project in a very short phrase.
A good project name has a significant impact on the success of the project as it gives everyone involved, from client to contractor, a clear understanding of what needs to be done.
It also sets the tone for the entire project.
A great project name is short, to the point, and easy to remember.
It should accurately describe what the project is all about without being too vague.
For example, a good name for a construction project might be “Bridge over River.” This tells us what the project is (a bridge) and where it is located (over a river).
But it doesn’t give us too much information, so we can still focus on other aspects of the project.
Similarly, a good name for an IT project might be “Web Portal Development.” This tells us what the project is (a web portal) and what needs to be done (development).
Again, it’s short, to the point, and easy to remember.
When choosing a name for your project, keep the following in mind:
- The name should be short, to the point, and easy to remember.
- It should accurately describe what the project is about without being too vague.
- Avoid using inside jokes or jargon that only those in the know will understand.
- The name should set the tone for the entire project.
- Keep it simple – avoid long, complicated names.

How To Name Your Digital Art Business?
Choosing the business name is one of the most important decisions you’ll make in the beginning stages of your art business. This is almost just as important as deciding on the kind of artwork you will be doing.
It serves as the face of your business. It is the foundation of your company’s branding and will reflect on your products or services. A great name can bring you more customers and help you build credibility, but a bad name can do irreparable damage to your business. Ultimately, you want to use a name that people will remember and connects with them.
So, when choosing a good name for your business, you should consider your business line, product brand awareness, message delivery, market focus, and competition in order to have a good name that will catch the attention of the public.
Here are some good pointers on choosing a good name for your business:
- You should aim for a name that is short, memorable, and relevant. This will make it easier to remember and will help boost your online presence.
- Focus on what your customers will be saying about your artwork
- Think of your core skill; what are you best at?
- Choose a name that is easy for the audience to pronounce and spell
- Avoid using hyphens or numbers in your business name
- Don’t pick a name that’s too long, too short, too buzzy or too confusing for customers
- Choose a name that reflects your mission and makes you look trustworthy
- Consider your audience’s needs and interests
- Pick a name that goes well with your niche
- Ensure the domain name is available
Conclusion: Digital Art Business Names
Phew! So, there you have it folks, bucketloads of awesome digital art business name ideas for your creative venture! Hopefully, you found at least one that describes your idea well and meets all your criteria for a good brand.

How To Come up With an Artist Name
Coming up with a business name isn’t difficult. All you need to do is to follow a few steps and you will have a cool art name for your business.
Below are some of the tips that you should follow to name your art business:
1. Brainstorm ideas
First of all, come up with a good amount of name ideas and write them down on a piece of paper. Write down all the art names that are popping up in your mind.
Make sure to define your goals and priorities before writing these names. For example, if you want to start a small art store, then you should go for art store names. But if you are trying to name a big art company, then your names should also be general and broader than before.
2. Keep it short and simple.
It is a universal practice that art business names are usually short and simple. So, you should also try to keep your business name short and simple so that more and more customers can be attracted to your business.
But what if you do something different and choose a long name?
Long names are usually boring and people don’t like them. Thus, one should go for a name that people can easily understand. If people can’t remember your business name, you will lose clients and thus lose in business.
3. Get Ideas from friends and family.
It’s always a good idea to talk to others and get ideas and suggestions from them. I know sometimes people will give you only silly suggestions, but sometimes you can get some really creative art business names from the people that you don’t expect from.
This happens often. So, always talk to your friends and family and try to get more and more suggestions.
You can also create a post on Facebook to get ideas from your friends there too.
4. Don’t copy others.
Some people think that if they copy the name of any famous brand, they will get customers fast and easy. It is totally wrong. You may get a few customers in the beginning, but soon they will come to know that you are copying someone else. And, you will lose their respect and they won’t buy from you ever again.
So, it is always a good idea to come up with your own artist name ideas instead of copying others. You can also face legal consequences for copying others.
5. Finalize your art name.
To finalize your business name, make sure to check if the name you are choosing is short and simple. Your art gallery names should be creative. But they should not be difficult to understand.
If there is any difficult word in the name, try to remove it.

5 Mistakes to Avoid When Choosing a Art Business Names
Embarking on the journey of naming your art business is akin to giving birth to a masterpiece. The middle name, often overlooked, plays a pivotal role in shaping your brand’s identity. However, in the pursuit of originality, many entrepreneurs stumble upon avoidable pitfalls. Let’s delve into the art of middle name selection and decipher the mistakes that can mar your creative enterprise.
Harmonizing with the Essence: The Clash of Themes
One prevalent error lies in the clash of themes within the name. Imagine an art studio named “SurrealCanvas Expressions” with the middle name “Renaissance.” The juxtaposition of surrealism and the Renaissance era may bewilder potential patrons. To ensure coherence, choose a middle name that resonates harmoniously with the essence of your primary business name.
The Length Predicament: Balancing Grace and Conciseness
Long-winded middle names, although tempting for their poetic allure, can be a double-edged sword. Consider “VividPalette Artistry Innovations” versus “Vivid Palette Art Co.” The former risks overwhelming potential clients with verbosity, while the latter elegantly communicates the essence. Opt for brevity without sacrificing the richness of meaning.
Cultural Appropriation: The Unseen Minefield
In an era where cultural sensitivity is paramount, the inadvertent appropriation of cultural elements can tarnish your brand’s image. A middle name inspired by a culture without understanding its nuances may lead to unintentional offense. Engage in thorough research to ensure your artistic expression doesn’t inadvertently cross cultural boundaries.
Neglecting Future Growth: A Short-Sighted Approach
A myopic perspective on your business’s future can lead to choosing a middle name that hinders expansion. Selecting a name too closely tied to a specific medium or style may limit your ability to diversify. Anticipate growth and opt for a middle name that allows for evolution, ensuring your brand remains adaptable in the dynamic art landscape.

Striking the Right Chord: A Symphony of Words
In conclusion, the middle name of your art business is not merely an afterthought; it is a resonating chord that echoes through the corridors of perception. Navigate the intricate landscape of naming with precision, avoiding the pitfalls that might dull the brilliance of your artistic vision. Choose wisely, for in the symphony of names, your art business deserves a melody that will stand the test of time.

Name Designs: The Perfect Lesson to Start Your Year

After working at the elementary level for fourteen years, I moved to the high school arena. From day one, I realized my high school kiddos were very similar to my elementary kiddos. I began to wonder if their art lessons could be similar as well. Here’s what I found out.
First, I realized all kids love stickers, candy, and positive affirmations for a job well done. Second, I realized the key to the success of an art program often lies in the first few lessons. It’s our job to guide our students and teach them the tools and techniques necessary to help them become the artists they aspire to be.
The Name Design Lesson is the perfect lesson for all grade levels and can start the year off right!

This lesson is wonderful on many levels. To start, it will help you learn your students’ names. At one point, I taught over 1300 students. That is a lot of names to remember! Being a visual learner, this lesson helped me recall many of those names early on.
This lesson also helps you get to know each student’s preferences, hobbies, and personalities. Perhaps most importantly, it gives you the opportunity to teach your students the many tools of art right from the start and to see where their individual strengths lie.
Here are 8 steps to teaching the Name Design Lesson and what students will learn along the way.
Before we jump into the steps, here is what your students will need for this lesson.
- 6″ x 12″ drawing paper
- A variety of wet and dry media
- Computer and printer (optional)
1. Create a mind map.

Teach students to brainstorm and think creatively by having them create a simple mind map about themselves. Have them start with their name in the middle. Then, have them map things like hobbies, interests, and passions. Once they’ve written down their words, have them come up with an interesting symbol for each.
2. Using the mind map as a starting point, begin to create the name.
Once students have come up with symbols to describe their interests and likes, have them creatively incorporate these symbols into their name. They can create the actual letters or use the negative space to create the letters. In this way, they must think about the importance of composition.
3. Highlight helpful tools.
This lesson is a perfect time to teach students about the media and tools needed to be successful artists. For example, if students are worried their handwriting is sloppy or messy, show them how they can print out enlarged fonts from the computer to trace or collage onto their piece.

4. Demonstrate collage techniques.
You can also teach students about the value of the images found within the pages of everyday magazines. Be sure to emphasize the importance of cutting and gluing neatly when collaging. When students have the freedom to collage, they don’t feel as pressured to draw perfectly.
5. Have students practice drawing from life.
Teach students about the importance of drawing from life and researching the images in which they are interested. This takes their art to a whole new level.

6. Encourage students to use a variety of media.
This lesson is also a great way to teach students how to experiment with various mediums. For example, I show them how to paint with markers , layer colors with crayons or colored pencils, and create a variety of line quality with drawing pens. I model how to use gradation in their graphite drawings, adding value and showcasing light sources.
7. Emphasize craft.
In my mind, one of the most important things this lesson teaches students is how to care about their art and the marks they make. It’s a great reminder that craftsmanship is an important part of the creative process.

8. Mount finished pieces for display.
To finish this lesson, I teach students how to mount their pieces and label them for exhibition. Then, we hang every piece in class exhibits that introduce our students to the school!
At the end of this lesson, students have experienced and learned how to manipulate a wide variety of wet and dry media. In addition, they have made artistic decisions based on their experimentation to create a cohesive, composed name design. They are always amazed at how well their first art project turned out because they learned the value of planning and taking the time to create and experiment. In the end, this lesson teaches students the power of their artistic voices.
Do you think the first art lesson of the school year is important?
What lessons do you teach your students early on and why are they successful in setting your students up for a successful year of art?

Back to School Name Art Freebie: Fun, Easy & Editable!
3-5 · All Freebies · PK-2
Looking for a back to school art project? This free name art activity is perfect for the first weeks of school. The finished name art projects can be used as part of a team building activity and to decorate year long bulletin boards. Read on for instructions, pictures, and links to the free editable name pages.

This free name art project is perfect for back to school ! It aligns with two excellent mentor texts, is low prep, you can use it as a team building activity, and it’s easy for the kids. As an added bonus, you can use the completed projects to create a variety of year long bulletin boards! This activity is always included in my first week plans and has been classroom tested with success in 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms.

What do I need to prepare the name art activity?
To prep this name art activity, you’ll need:
- A copy of The Name Jar or The Big Orange Splot (affiliate links)
- 1 name strip for every student (you’ll get click and edit nametags with the name art freebie)
- Art supplies (crayons, colored pencils, markers)
You might want to prepare a model of your own name beforehand, or you can use the pictures of mine in this post.
Name Art Step 1
First, introduce the name art project with a book. These are my faves. The Name Jar is a great mentor text to talk about the meaning & importance of names, but it is a bit longer and sometimes takes 2 days to do full it full justice. (affiliate link)

If you’re looking for something shorter, The Big Orange Splot is my personal fave to talk about individuality, favorite things, & hopes and dreams. (affiliate link)

If you don’t have time for a mentor text, just tell students you want to get to know them better, not only as learners, but as people too. Plus you’d like something special for every student to show off on your walls and/or bulletin boards.
Name Art Step 2
Brainstorm lists together of possible favorites and/or things that make students unique . Favorite colors, foods, subjects, numbers, sports, places, activities, secret talents, family, and fun facts are all possible ideas for decorating letters. With lists of ideas on the board no one will be stuck with nothing to draw. Plus, you might just get that breather you’d been hoping for.
Name Art Step 3
Next, show students an example. My first draft (before color) includes fall and spring themes in the K, art items in the A, technology tools in the T, Halloween characters in the I, and a travel theme in & around the E. You’ll also find books, palm trees, my minpin Lily, pottery, music, running, and teacher themed drawings in the background. Just because you have a short name doesn’t mean you need to leave out details in your drawings!

Name Art Step 4
Give each student their bubble letter name (printed on cardstock if you’re planning to laminate and use all year). Now the kids should decorate each letter with a design, color or illustration that communicates something special about them.
That’s it! Name art project complete!

What’s in the name art freebie?
The free name art pages are in an editable PowerPoint document. The PowerPoint includes 1 page of instructions and 6 pages of editable names. (See the included pages above.) The student name pages are organized by the number of letters per name. These range from 3-8 letters, so you can easily customize the names for all students in your classroom. The font is embedded so you won’t have to go font hunting and/or changing. You’ll just need to type your student names on the slides given, copy and paste slides as needed, and print. If you want to change the font to your favorite bubble letter font, you can do that as well. Everything is customizable and easy to change.
Where can I get the free name art templates?
